1961-2026
Charles J. "Chuck" Granger passed away on September 12, 2026, in Salt Lake City, after a brief battle with lung cancer and heart failure.
Chuck was truly one of a kind. He was funny, kind, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He never met a stranger, befriending almost everyone he met. He worked hard throughout his life, including his many years in the oil fields and road construction. He was also the guy you could count on to help work on a vehicle, repair a roof, or help with any other project without him expecting anything in return.
Above all, Chuck loved his family. His daughter Becky, son in law Bobby, son Anthony, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved bringing everyone together, cooking, watching his grandsons play football, telling jokes, playing cards or dice, listening to rock and roll, watching Westerns, and making memories. His simple gestures such as bringing his sister a maple bar to share every payday, bringing his daughter the new Carebear that came out when she was little, the skiing trips he took the family on, or paying his "Dad dues" aka allowance to both of his children when they were young will always be remembered and treasured.
Chuck was known for doing things his own way and always running on Chuck time. He marched to the beat of his own drum, never afraid to be exactly who he was. Chuck made life brighter simply by being himself. His laughter, kindness, generosity, and unforgettable personality will live on in everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest easy, Chuck. You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
Chuck is survived by his daughter, Becky (Bobby) Cornell; son, Anthony Brown; grandchildren, Patrick, Wade, Cammie, and Gabe Cornell; sister, Shirley Wright; brother, Bob (Pam) Kelly; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his dad, George Granger; mom, Goldie (Bob) McGovern; sister, Jeanie Fischer; and brothers, Gordon Kelly and George Kelly.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in Thermopolis in early summer 2027.
