Last weekend's Trailblazer Days festivities and the non-motorized parade featured community members, historians, volunteers and many out of state visitors celebrating the legacy of the legendary 16-Mule Team and the Johnson Family. The weekend included wagon displays, cowboy poetry, music, storytelling, demonstrations, great food and more. The Trailblazer event showcased the spirit of Wyoming's past and the people who continue to preserve it. The event was part of the Wyoming 250 celebration.
Our local legacy story of Henry Johnson, also known as 16-Mule Team Johnson, is a grand example of how much effort, strength and grit it took to be a pioneer on the frontier. To survive and thrive, settlers collaborated efforts and worked toward the common goal of building a sustainable community.
