Jackie Rae Jones Tobin

1959-2025

It is with deep love and gratitude for her life that we share the passing of Jackie Rae Jones Tobin, age 66, of Pine Haven, Wyo., on October 21, 2025.

Jackie was born on March 15, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Hilan Jones and Carol Ann (Skelton) Jones Barham. Jackie grew up surrounded by the beauty of the West, living in Utah before her family settled in Casper and later Thermopolis, Wyo., where she completed her high school education. Following graduation, Jackie attended and completed beauty school, beginning a career that reflected her creativity, compassion, and care for others.

Jackie was a devoted wife and partner to her husband, Al Tobin, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life grounded in faith, hard work, and love — including their shared dedication to S&S; Builders. After retiring, Jackie and Al made their home in Pine Haven, where they enjoyed the beauty of Wyoming and the warmth of a close-knit community.

Jackie’s life was a reflection of her love for the Lord and for the people around her. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years and opened her home weekly for a women’s prayer group that inspired and comforted many. Jackie found joy in spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and giving of herself to others. She had two dear friends in Gillette, many cherished friends in Pine Haven, and was an active and beloved member of the Over the Hill Gang.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Hilan Jones; and husband, Al Tobin, in 2024.

She is survived by her sons, Eric Tobin (Cassandra) of Moorcroft, Wyo., and Jacob Tobin of Gillette, Wyo.; mother, Carol Ann Barham of Thermopolis, Wyo.; brother, Seth Jones (Claudia) of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; sister, Kristen Miller (Scott) of Thermopolis, Wyo.; and grandchildren Dakota Tobin, Aubrey Jones, Myndy Heringer, Alyssa Tobin, and Agatha Heringer.

A celebration of life will be held at Faith Community Church, 177 American Road, Gillette, WY 82716, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pine Haven Fire/EMS, 24 Waters Drive, Pine Haven, WY 82721.

“Her faith was her foundation, her love was her legacy, and her spirit will live on in all who knew her.”
