Laura Louise (Riggs) Harvey Dockter, Mother and Homemaker and life long Thermopolis, Wyo., resident went home to the Lord on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the age 75.
Laura was born in Rock Springs Wyo. Her mother Harriet Wilde Trank and William Trank moved to Thermopolis when she was young. She spent her school years in Thermopolis. Over the years she was involved in many different occupations including janitor at the high school while her children attended school and restaurant owner.
Laura married Mark Harvey and together they had three children, Harold (Cheryl) Harvey of El Reno, Okla., Kenny Harvey of Worland, Wyo., and Wesley (Kimberly) Harvey of Thermopolis. They later divorced and Laura married John Harvey. John had two daughters, Lori Oliver and Lynn Ornsbey, and they blended their families together, raising them all in Thermopolis. John Harvey passed away in 2013. Laura married Verner (Doc) Dockter in 2014. Doc had two children that Laura loved like her own, Brett Dockter and Rhonda Hahn. Doc passed away in June of 2025.
Laura loved her children and grandchildren like never before. They were the apple of her eye always bragging on all of them. The running joke was "who her favorite of the day was". She also enjoyed bingo, fishing, hunting, and watching her grandchildren play in sports.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Harvey; husband, Verner Dockter; brothers, Bill Riggs and Wayne Riggs; and sister Debbie Trank.
Laura is survived by her children; brother, John Riggs; sisters, Mari Riggs, Margie (Sonny) Porter, and Jan (Bill) Allen; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 8 great, great-grandchildren.
