Sherry Irene McDonald

Sherry Irene McDonald, 70, entered eternal rest surrounded by family and friends on September 24, 2025, in Thermopolis, Wyo.

Sherry was a kind and beautiful soul with a passion for painting and gardening. She also loved baking with her grandson, Sawyer, whom she cherished dearly.

Born on December 12, 1954, in Cody, Wyo., Sherry was the daughter of the late Russell and Betty Stout. Russ and Betty raised Sherry and her siblings in Cody, where she graduated from Cody High School in 1973.

On January 11, 1975, Sherry married her best friend and the love of her life, Sidney Alan McDonald, in Cody. Together they raised two daughters, Mandy and Misty, in Thermopolis. In 2009, Sid and Sherry moved to Riverton, and after Sid's retirement, they returned to Thermopolis in May 2020.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Sid McDonald; daughters, Mandy Wilson (Shane) and Misty Jacobs (Mike); grandchildren, Sawyer, Parker, Morgan, and Canon; sisters, Shirley Liedholt, Carolyn (Jim) Becker, and Karen Williams; brother, Matt (Trista) Stout; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sherry will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 11 at the Thermopolis VFW with Carl Olson officiating. The family gratefully declines flowers and instead suggests donations be made to any Alzheimer's research program in Sherry's memory.
