1932-2025
Maria Grisham went home with her savior on May 12, 2025. Her family kept very close to her this past year during her failing health.
Maria was born in Tettnang, Germany, to Georg and Maria Eisele on January 24, 1932. She married her American sweetheart, Robert Grisham, a soldier in the U.S. Army in 1955 while he was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. When his tour of duty was up in 1958, Maria came with him to America. She received her U.S. citizenship 3 years later. She was a devoted Army wife over the next 25 years.
After their retirement, Maria and Robert lived in Brighton, Colo., Cody, Wyo., and then Thermopolis, Wyo., for the last 13 years. They were married for 66 years.
Maria enjoyed traveling and their daughter with families. She used to raise beautiful flowers and vegetables; made the best pickles and applebutter for everyone; and crocheted beautiful aphgans for many people and for all her families.
Maria is survived by her sisters in Germany, Hilde Fruh and Roswitha Irringer; daughter, Erika Lenferink; grandchildren, Brenda (Pat) Cornwell, and Adam (Jackie) Frankson, all of Thermopolis; and numerous great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Georg and Maria Eisele; and her husband Robert Grisham.
Her own request was for no services, just celebrate each other and be thankful.
