1934-2025
Marjorie "Marge" Ann Yager, 90, passed away at Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness on April 8, 2025.
Marge was born on December 27, 1934, in Golden, Colo., to Kusti Franti and Olga Gustafson. During her childhood years, she overcame much adversity due to family tragedy.
She graduated from Golden, Colorado High School in 1952 where she was a cheerleader and avid sports enthusiast. Soon after, she married her partner for life, William Byron Yager. She worked in Denver as a nurse, a teachers' aide at Pleasant View, Colorado Elementary School and later, for Jefferson County in the Clerk and Recording Department. Throughout that time, Marge and Bill raised three children: Joy, David and Douglas. Upon retirement, she participated in local parades dressing as a clown for the children's enjoyment.
After retirement, Marge and Bill moved to Thermopolis, Wyo., where she enjoyed all the things this State has to offer. She especially loved quilting and even worked part time at a quilt shop. She was actively involved in the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, serving on the altar guild, making pies for church benefits and with her husband, helping to make box meals for the needy. Marge loved to spend time with her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved helping others and that legacy will continue on in the many lives she touched.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years; his parents, David and Gladys Yager; and her parents.
She is survived by her children, Joy (John) Hightower of Anthem, Ariz., David (Shelley) Yager of Centennial, Colo., and Douglas (Rebecca) Yager of Taos, N.M .; grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Jennifer and Ann; and great-grandchildren, Miles, Mara and Elliot.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Please send checks to PO Box 524 Worland, WY 82401. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
