Joyce Marie Pitt Fletcher

Joyce Marie Pitt Fletcher passed away on October 10, 2023, at Banner Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyo.

Born on May 21, 1941, in Thermopolis, Wyo., Joyce was the first of Theodore and Marie Pitt's two children. She graduated from Hot Springs County

High in 1959, then went on to Beauty School in Casper. Following graduation, she worked as a beautician in DuBois and later in Thermopolis. Several years later she worked for Gottsche Rehabilitation Center as a Bookkeeper.

On May 14, 1977, Joyce married her beloved John Cullen Fletcher who ran the Thermopolis Airport. Joyce worked in the office and kept the books for John's airplane repair company. After John's death, Joyce began work at the Dollar Store in Thermopolis and continued when it later changed hands to today's Discover Thermopolis.

Joyce was widely known as a very loving and creative person. She loved to crochet and knit. Her family and friends were frequently the lucky recipients of her creativity. Joyce was very talented and curious and enjoyed learning new stitches, seeing what she could create with them to bring joy and

comfort to those around her, both with gifts of her work as well as helping others to learn these skills.

Her family and community were central to Joyce, and she enjoyed her life in Thermopolis greatly.

Joyce is survived by her brother, Donald Pitt (wife, Carolyn); nephew, Ted Pitt (wife, Mandie); nieces, Dr. Kate Mielitz (husband, Slade) and Jacqui

Pitt; two great-nephews; five great-nieces; two great- nephews-in-law; two great, great-nephews; and one great, great-niece; two aunts in Worland – Alice Beckley and Pat Schweighart; and a multitude of cousins all over the place.

She was predeceased by her parents, Theodore R. and Marie Susannah Pitt.

A service will be held at Mortimore Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 26 at 2 p.m.
