Nelson 'Ned' David Faler

Ned Faler, 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Thermopolis, Wyo., on July 20, 2023.

Ned was born in Gillette, Wyo., on April 22, 1965. He was the third child to William (Bill) and Peggy Faler, one of three children. In 1977, the family moved to Thermopolis Wyoming where Ned graduated from High School in 1982.

He loved Music and played the guitar, with a love for the bass guitar. This led him to Powell Community College to further his education. His next step was attending Berklee School of Music in Boston, Mass., where he also became involved with some local bands.

After attending Berklee, Ned moved back to Thermopolis and worked for the local radio station (KTHE) as a DJ and also worked in maintenance. During that time, he also was involved with some local bands that performed in the area. He later worked for the National Park Service in Yellowstone Park for the summers. That was his dream job, and he was going to apply for permanent employment with the National Park Service, but was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In the early 90s to present, MS dominated his lifestyle, but he still enjoyed music and family.

To sum up Ned Faler: He was a God respecting person, loving son, loving brother, and flat enjoyed life. His positive support and attitude will be sorely missed; but his influence on family and friends will never fade.

Ned is survived by his brothers, William (Velma) Faler & Jonathan Faler; and nieces, Lee Faler, Linda (Travis) Schulte, and Leora (Ron) Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) & Peggy Faler.

He did not want a funeral service, instead a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

We thank God that we knew this great man!

Mortimore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
