Seeking items for Corley display

You are invited to contribute to the Nellie Corley memorial display during the Hot Springs County Fair. Organizers would like to commemorate her with a collection of her work or anything Nellie related.

According to her daughter Barb Rice, “Nellie Corley is well known in the Thermopolis community for her amazing, loving personality. She was community minded and contributed to many people. When she made a commitment, she stuck with it.”

Nellie was a 4-H leader and Extension club member. She won numerous awards for her skill and giving of her time and energy to those endeavors. She was a fair clerk for many years and an election judge, along with being a Sunday school teacher and active in the church.

“People really miss her. She was a quilter who inspired hundreds of people. I am really honored by this for her because she mattered to so many people in our community. She really touched people’s hearts and always had a smile,” added Rice.

Bring items to the fair building during open class check-in on Tuesday, August 1 from 8 a.m.-noon. For more information, contact Marilyn Vass at 307-867-2483.
