Farrell qualifies for National High School Rodeo Finals

Thermopolis High School Rodeo Club members competed at the State Finals in Rock Springs last week.

HSCHS 2023 graduate Roedy Farrell was runner up in the bareback riding event with a first go score of 75 and a second go score of 70 for a total of 218, putting him just behind first place Tuker Carricato of Saratoga who had a total score of 226.

Farrell also came in second in the year end standings with 230.50 points.

At the state finals, Porter McCumber came in 5th in the boys cutting.

Kamryn Farrell, in her first year of high school rodeo, competed in the breakaway roping with a time of 7.38 in the first go and 13.310 in the second go. She also qualified for state in the goat tying and had a first go time of 15.650 and a second go time of 8.650.

Jhett Longwell competed in the tie down calf roping with a first go time of 16.640 and a no time in the second go.

Jhett and his brother, McCoy, competed in the team roping.

Roedy qualified to compete at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Gillette July 16-23. The top four and ties in each event qualify to compete at nationals.
