Volunteer at Legend Rock Petroglyph site

Legend Rock Petroglyph Site, located approximately 25 miles outside of Thermopolis, is one of the many unique attractions that makes Thermopolis so special. The Friends of Hot Springs State Park and Legend Rock is looking for volunteers to help maintain, support, and promote Legend Rock during the summer.

This is an opportunity to spend time there as a “camp host” where volunteers can camp for a few days or weeks. As a camp host, you can bring your own RV. There are full hookups for water, sewer, and electricity as well as a camp site.

If you don’t have an RV, and would be planning a long-term stay, Hot Springs State Park has a camper trailer with a kitchen area, bed, air conditioning and other amenities available to your use.

For those who would rather volunteer for a shorter time, there is also the option of spending a day or a few hours there greeting visitors and promoting historical and cultural information. The days and times are flexible, and any time committed to helping out would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone interested in volunteering either as a camp host or a day volunteer is invited to an orientation gathering on Thursday, June 22 at 10 a.m. at the Hot Springs State Park Headquarters, 220 Park Street, located across the street from the high school.

If enough interest is generated, there will be a training seminar at Legend Rock for volunteers to become comfortable with the site.
