Michele Lynn (Kohn) LaBeau

Michele Lynn (Kohn) LaBeau passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2023, after a long illness. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mema, sister, and aunt with a love for God and children. She was born on November 24, 1962, to Clifford and Elizabeth Kohn in Standish, Michigan.

Michele was a stay-at-home-mom for many years, and a babysitter to many of her nieces and nephews and other friends' children. She went to back to work when her boys were grown. She worked as a paraprofessional with students at all need levels, which was a perfect job for her servant heart. She loved her students and her coworkers, and they each were special to her.

She was very active in church and loved to serve those around her. She piloted puppet ministries at three different churches. She served as a deaconess, a member of the children's, hostess, and worship committees, VBS, and sang in the choir. One of her proudest moments was singing and recording worship songs with Devin Chisholm.

She is survived by her husband, Matt; children, Jeremy (Rachel), Jourdan (Laura), Jonah; grandchildren, Levi, Evelyn, and Jourdan. She is also survived by Nancy LaBeau; siblings, Julie Sherman, Deb (Gerry) Pross, Dean (Joyce) Kohn, Becky (Dale) Lakin, Sue Kohn, David LaBeau Jr., and Michelle (Harold) Archer; nieces and nephews, Kristen, RaShawnda (Jim), Mindy (Paul), Codie (Delisa), Chelsae (Jay), Shandon, Tylor (Emily), Isaac, Makenzie, Harrison, Lucy, Deana, Carissa, Schad; fifteen great nieces and nephews; and her special best friend, Janet Ireland.

Michele is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Elizabeth Kohn; David LaBeau Sr .; and several aunts and uncles.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Risen Son Baptist Church in Thermopolis, Wyo. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
