Bobcats named to All Conference

Hot Springs County High School freshman Lady Cat basketball player Jayssie Owsley as received accolades for the 2022-23 season by being named to the Girls 3A West All Conference post-season awards list.

Bobcat Cord Simeral, a senior, was named to the Boys 3A West All Conference post-season awards list.

Honors were chosen in a vote by the head coaches.

In overall season stats, for all girls in 3A West, Owsley came in 9th for scoring per game averages with 8.7. For the season, Owsley scored a total of 198 points, the highest for the Lady Cats. Simeral scored a total of 218 points, the highest for the Bobcats.

Also making the conference overall stats list for the Lady Bobcats is senior Ruthanne Johnson coming in 6th in rebounding with an average of 6.1 and 7th in blocked shots with 0.6. Freshman Kamryn Farrell earned 9th in assists with an average of 2.0.

For the Bobcats overall conference stats, for all boys in 3A West, Simeral came in 7th for rebounding with an average of 5.9 per game. Senior Gavin Shumway came in 2nd in steals with 2.3. Senior Corbin Simeral came in 10th in steals with an average of 1.6. Sophomore Brody Potter made the list in 1st for 3 point shots with 60% and 8th in blocked shots with 0.5. William Coale, a junior, came in 3rd in 3 point shots with 50%.
