Concerned citizen asks about snow piles

The Thermopolis Town Council held a brief meeting last Tuesday evening at the Town Hall.

During citizen participation, one subject requested a list of the council members’ names and contact information for the general public so they could exercise their right to petition the government.

Another citizen requested information about how to get on the agenda and to do it through the proper channels.

During the town department reports Director of Public Works Ernie Slagle held a brief discussion with a citizen about snow plowing in the streets. The concerned citizen mentioned the snow piles in the middle of the streets and that elderly drivers had difficulty getting turned around when they leave their houses.

Slagle explained the town employees put the snow in the middle of the streets so they can pick it up as time allows and they provide openings down the streets so people can turn around.

Town Engineer Anthony Barnett requested the Mayor’s signature for the DEQ Certificate of Completion of the water project. Barnett said that the water and sewer work has been installed per DEQ regulations. The council voted and passed the approval to sign the document.
