The varsity Bobcat football team hit the road last Friday to take on the Pinedale Wranglers, coming home with a 34-6 win.
Coach Matt McPhie said,
“The team had a great win on the road at Pinedale Friday evening. The defense had a great game holding Pinedale to a single score in the first half. Mason Reese and Brody Sorensen led the way on the defense, each having 11 tackles. Roedy Farrell had 10 tackles, including 2 tackles for loss. Zane Stam added another interception to his growing collection. Jessen Basse was busy on defense ripping off 8 tackles. Armani Dukes and Chris Arends each chipped in 5 tackles in the contest.”
The Bobcats were able to score five touchdowns while amassing a balance attack of pass and run.
Coach McPhie added, “On the offensive side, Gavin Shumway completed 14 of 20 passes for 213 yards and 4 touchdowns. Farrell had a big day hauling in 2 of those touchdown passes and running in another for a total of three touchdowns in the game. Farrell had 167 rushing and 80 yards receiving. Del Dukes scored 2 touchdowns for the Bobcats. Dukes also had a couple of big plays in the pass game and totaled five catches for 92 yards in the game. Ryan Arends grabbed three passes for 32 yards, Owen McCumber knocked in four of five-point afters, which makes him eight out of nine in the last two weeks.”
Final score of the game was 34-6 in a huge Bobcat victory.
The Bobcats travels to Lyman this Friday to take on the Eagles in a 2 p.m. game.
