New owner takes over at Southside

The Southside Travel Center convenience store is now under new ownership by Mike Bailey’s Pit Stop or Bailey Enterprises in Riverton.

Store Manager Mike Hughes said “It has been really hectic just because of all the transferring. But as far as I see, they are doing things the right way. They do it as a team. So not one person is overstressed which I’m really looking forward to. ”

Regarding Champs Chicken, Hughes said there will be more options on the menu coming soon. Recently, Champs Chicken had earned its best day of sales for the entire year.

Also, Southside now sells non-ethanol premium gas. Hughes also said that they plan on adding pizza for sale. 

Hughes added “I think it’s a good thing for the town overall.”
