Chimenti, Estenson running for mayor

The filing period for federal, state, county and town offices closed last Friday. Locally, there will be some contested races for town and county leadership.

Two people filed for Mayor of the Town of Thermopolis, incumbent Mike Chimenti and Adam Ryan Estenson.

John D. Dorman Sr., Tony Larson, Bradyn Harvey and Rachel Hughes will be running for the two expiring town council positions. The positions are currently held by Dorman and Larson.

Several Hot Springs County offices have terms expiring.

Incumbents Jack T. Baird and Thomas J. Ryan are seeking re-election for their two county commissioner seats. Paul M. Galovich and Joe Martinez will also be running for those two seats. All are running as Republicans.

Dan Webber filed for the position of assessor. Jill Logan filed for county attorney. Becky Kersten filed for county clerk. Mark Mortimore filed for coroner. Terri Cornella filed for clerk of district court. Jerimie Kraushaar filed for county sheriff. Julie Mortimore filed for treasure. These county offices are currently held by those seeking re-election. All are running under the Republican ticket.

For the town of Kirby, Jessica Slagle filed for the position of mayor and Kimberly Graham and Nathaniel Rodriguez filed for the two expiring council positions.

For East Thermopolis, Jack Kuiper has filed for mayor and council member incumbents Dolores Bush and Debra Lackey will go against Julie Dodds Music for two expiring terms.
