The Board of Directors for the Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce were invited to have their May 10 board meeting at the SonRise Grass Creek Guest Ranch, located at 3809 Grass Creek Road.
Chamber CEO Meri Ann Rush said, “The board of directors toured the operation of SonRise Grass Creek Guest Ranch, had a great meal provided, and had our monthly board meeting.”
Meri Ann Rush also reported that due to only four essays being received for the National Civic Bee, the US Chamber Foundation canceled the event. Rush said they will invite the entry writers to their June board meeting to read their essays. It was suggested to give prizes to the four entries some chamber bucks. Merlin’s Hide Out and Black Bear Catering will sponsor the prizes.
The board made the motion not to increase the 2022-2023 Investment Schedule and approved the 2022-2023 budget as presented. Business After Hours will be Thursday, May 26 at Central Bank & Trust. The next board meeting will be on June 8 at Big Horn Federal and board elections will be announced.
Regarding the chamber’s tour of SonRise Grass Creek Guest Ranch, Doug Lindamood and his crew gave the board “a fantastic tour” of their operation. Lindamood talked about agri-tourism and how their operation works. They have some RV hookups and a historic cabin to stay in.
According to Rush, the SonRise Grass Creek Guest Ranch is the only place in Hot Springs County that offers horseback riding. Rush added, “If you have the time, it is worth the trip out to visit the ranch.”
