Wrestlers earn top awards

The Thermopolis Wrestling Club has 78 wrestlers competing who have been racking up accomplishments and winning medals throughout the season.

Team members are preparing for the state tournament April 14-16 in Casper.

Lilly Quintanilla, 14U, was 3rd in Colorado at the Girls Folkstyle Nationals with a record of 10-1. She will be heading to Iowa in April for the Twin River Girls National Duels. Jesalyn Blair was 5th at Nationals.

Wrestlers also attended the Greybull Riverside and Montana Open with the following results:

Greybull Riverside Folkstyle

8U 53-55 - Gentry Kimes, 3rd, 8 team points

10U 65-66 - Cheston Kimes, 2nd

10U 93-105 - Kylie Geis, 2nd

10U Female 85-92 - Kylie Geis, 1st, 2 team points

10U 86 - Samuel Johnson, 3rd, 7 team points

10U 92 - Clint Kimes, 1st.

 

Greybull Riverside Freestyle

10U 63-65 - Cheston Kimes, 1st, 19.5 team points

12U 82-86 - Samuel Johnson, 3rd, 7 team points

12U 98 - Clint Kimes, 1st, 16 team points

Montana Open

Over 2,400 wrestlers competed with the Thermopolis team placing 31 out of 180. In the medium team category, Thermopolis placed 8th

8 & Under 50 - Gabriel Ryan, 3rd, 5 team points.

8 & Under 54 - Aksel Polson, 6th, 1 team points.

8 & Under 97 - Kade Enis, 3rd, 5 team points.

10 & Under 73 - Tanner Myers, 4th, 3 team points.

Girls 10 & Under 81 - Briar Lahoe, 3rd, 5 team points.

Girls 10 & Under 100 - Brayli Price, 5th, 2 team points.

Girls 10 & Under 127 - Jesalyn Blair, 2nd, 7 team points.

12 & Under 86 - Dyllan Myers, 5th, 2 team points.

12 & Under 106 - Cannon Boren, 2nd, 7 team points.

Girls 15 & Under 151 - Kailey Allen, 5th, 2 team points.
