Deromedi recognized as 2A golf coach of the year

Coach Brandon Deromedi finished his 3rd year coaching the Bobcat golf teams with four Championships in a row under his belt.

Coach Deromedi lead the boys team to four Championships using hard work, data analysis, team competitions, and laughter.

He believes in simplicity and data analysis of strategies for his Bobcats. He used data analysis to track rounds and used the data to find areas of improvement.  Data kept consisted of putts, scoring averages on par 3/4/5’s, greens in regulation, fairways, and more. The Champion Golfers would also try to play on the state course prior to state to help track their tendencies so a game plan could be made.

Coach Deromedi believes in high expectations and goals but also in having fun as a team.  With daily competitions or challenges where they are put in tough situations and see their performance, through these challenges many laughs are had and the mood stays light. Coach Deromedi holds high expectations for all his golfers and he said  “We have to set the bar high to come out on top,”

Brandon was involved in other sports except golf all through high school, college, and his professional career up until these last three years.

Coach Deromedi stated,  “Thank you to my family for giving me up during the two golf seasons each year.”  He looks forward to his boys getting older and joining him on the course if they choose.

Coach Deromedi would like to extend a special thank you to the Thermopolis Golf Course for providing a great course and opportunity for the Bobcats to practice and participate on.  He continues to express that, without the course, he is not sure that there would be a Bobcat team.  “They do a great job of understanding and catering to our needs as a team,” he said.

He ended with expressing how important the kids are and that this award would not be possible without them and their families and their dedication to the sport in the on and off seasons.

“I feel very fortunate to be able to be around this group of kids and hope they know that the award I got is just as much theirs as it is mine,” Coach Deromedi boasted of his Bobcat team.
