Bobcats defeat Mtn. View

The Bobcat varsity football team went on the road last Friday and defeated Mountain View by a final score of 40-13.

It was the Bobcat’s first victory over Mountain view in 11 games.

“The team played tough physical football, and pulled away in the second half- shutting out the Buffalo’s outscoring them 20-0 in the 2nd half,” said coach Matt McPhie.

The Bobcats were lead by Adley Coyne and Roedy Farrell who combined for over 430 yards of rushing on the afternoon.  Coyne led the way with 281 yards rushing while Farrell had 149 yards on the ground. Farrell also tossed a touchdown pass in the game.

“The offensive line did a fantastic job - they executed the game plan and paved holes all day long for our backs,” added McPhie. That squad was led by Hazen Thurgood, Carson Williams, Austin Barral, Porter McCumber and Jarek Sorensen.

On defense, the team made great adjustments and played with tremendous fire.  Eli McCumber flew around from his linebacker position and was in on over 10 tackles.  Austin Barral and Adley Coyne manned the defensive end positions with authority and combined for 4 sacks.

The team travels to Big Piney for a make up game Tuesday. They conclude the regular season at home vs Pinedale this Friday at 5 p.m.
