Main Street Thermopolis will launch “Great until 8!”, a regular event to encourage businesses in Hot Springs County to stay open until 8 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month and shoppers to take advantage of the late hours.
The monthly promotion, beginning on Saturday, October 9, starts with downtown businesses with plans to invite additional businesses to participate as the program expands. The program will be marketed to both locals and visitors.
“We look forward to launching Great until 8! and the response from the businesses we have contacted so far has been positive” according to Main Street Thermopolis president, Suzanne Samelson.
Samelson added “There will be a drawing for a prize of a $100 gift certificate. Shoppers will enter receipts from participating businesses for purchases made from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 9. Shoppers should make sure their receipts have the date and time on them to be eligible for the drawing, which will take place at Discover Thermopolis (541 Broadway) at 8:15 p.m. to allow folks time to enter their receipts in the drawing. The $100 gift certificate will be usable at the business with the winning receipt.”
To date, there are a dozen businesses who have signed up for Great until 8! and three so far have indicated they will be doing something special that evening. Maps showing the businesses will be available at Discover Thermopolis starting October 1. The businesses will have a sign to post in their windows and will have a reference copy of the map. There will also be an ad in the October 7 Independent Record which will list the participating businesses.
