Senior center events in August

The Senior Center is holding two major events for the month of August. On Saturday, August 21, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. they will have the Non Sponsored Poker Chip Run. Pre-register now or from 9:30-10 a.m. prior to departure that day. Leaving the Senior Center at 10 a.m. Each entry is $10. 

Any side by sides, four wheelers, trucks, SUVs are welcome. Drawings and prizes awarded at 3:30 p.m. at the Center. Burgers, hot dogs, chips and watermelon served at 4 p.m. at the Center, it’s $5 a plate. 

There is an additional fun en route: Begins at the Senior Center, featuring a 50/50 raffle. First stop, Buffalo Creek, featuring a knife raffle; Second stop, Bridger Creek featuring a yard art raffle; Third stop, GK Construction featured opportunity is a surprise; Ends at the Senior Center with everyone back by 3 p.m. 

The other Senior Center event is an Open Air Concert and meal FUNdraiser to Benefit Alzheimer’s Awareness. It is presented by the Hot Springs County Senior Center and Triple C Cowboys on Saturday, August 28 in the State Park Pavillion. Music begins at 1:15 p.m. and ends at 2:15 p.m. Seating will be available. 

This is a community event and lunch is provided by Forks n Corks Catering, serving from 12-1 p.m. only at the Kiwanis Shelter in the Hot Springs State Park. Donations boxes will be available.
