Kathy Taylor honored by Wyoming Coaches Assoc.

Former high school teacher, coach and athletic director, Kathy Taylor received the Distinguished Service Award from the Wyoming Coaches Association. The award comes from a nomination and there are three award winners for the year.

Known to her students as "Coach T" she led athletes of volleyball teams, swimmers, basketball and even badminton for over 40 years. Thirty-two of those years she spent in Thermopolis where she eventually became the athletic director. Taylor's reputation with others is that she is impeccably organized and runs things very smoothly. A member of the community stated that Taylor "is a part of Thermopolis."

Member of the Wyoming Coaches Association board of directors, Heath Hayes said, "Not only was Kathy a longtime athletic director and coach in Thermopolis, she obviously was a leader within the athletic directors association and other areas. People must have felt she has done enough in her career to be deserving of this award."

Hayes added, "For many of us as students Miss Taylor treated everybody with great respect and she got that back out of kids. I think she's a great role model and very deserving of the award."
