Dean Alma Stone, Jr.

Dean Alma Stone, Jr, 74, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Elk Horn Rehabilitation in Casper, Wyo. A resident of Thermopolis, he was presently residing at the Wyoming Pioneer Home.

Born July 22, 1946, in Denver, Colo., he was the only son of four children of Dean and Dona (Warner) Stone, Sr.  He moved from Salt Lake City to Thermopolis seven years ago.

During his employment years he was in the claims departments for health and auto insurance companies.  He was a member of AARP and the Church of Latter-day Saints in Thermopolis. 

In addition to enjoying his large family, Dean enjoyed, camping, skiing, fishing, reading, singing, church, NASCAR, football, Denver Broncos and basketball, especially the Jazz.

Dean is survived by his children, Chris (Sarah) Konig of California, Justin (Shawntae) Wheeler of Salt Lake City, Utah, Carol Marie Stone of Glenrock, Wyo., and Deanna (Dallin) Zobell of Salt Lake City; sisters, Susan Barber of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Dona Ann Brown of Colorado; 16 grandkids; and 13 great grandkids. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Nancy James.

Funeral services were held July 10, at Mortimore Funeral Home in Thermopolis with Bishop Maddox of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating.  Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery.
