Get ready to rodeo in Thermopolis

The Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous PRCA Rodeo is set for June 25-26, 2021 - Get Ready for the Re-ride, Buck Covid.

Friday night after the rodeo in front of One Eyed Buffalo, Chancey Williams will be performing a concert. Tickets are available online at Chancey Williams Facebook page or locally at OEB. Williams will be donating part of the proceeds to area first responders. Williams reached out to the rodeo committee because his last experience performing in Thermopolis was amazing so he wanted to perform here again.

Our local rodeo was one of many around the state and country that were canceled last year due to COVID-19 regulations. The rodeo committee has worked hard to make this year’s rodeo one of the best ever. The rodeo committee wants the community to know they don’t do this for themselves, they do this for the community and this year they are bringing two bands that both have record deals and more vendors than ever before.

Vendor Alley at the fairgrounds will be open Friday during slack performances, Friday night when gates open, Saturday after the parade and again Saturday at 5 p.m.

Once again, the rodeo committee has teamed up with Powder River Rodeo Company to bring top quality, NFR award-winning stock.

There is also an extra treat for the Saturday performance ticket holders.

“This year we wanted to think outside the box and do something really big for our community to get people engaged again, outside, and having fun,” said rodeo committee member Heather Hayes.

The committee has hired performer DJ Bridwell who will be putting on a concert Saturday night after the rodeo at no extra charge for rodeo attendees. Special guest will be Kayla Ruby.

The rodeo clown at this year’s performance will be Dalton Morris who is great at making crowds of all ages laugh with humorous antics, trick roping and T-shirt launching skills.

The committee is bringing back the WPRA 2019 announcer of the year Doug Mathis and sound and music director Derek Barton.

The big video board will be back this year and it was a big hit in the past. David and Dawn Petty are the video board directors.

Miss Rodeo Wyoming will be here and eleven queens and princesses from around the area.

Gates open at the HSC Fairgrounds at 5 p.m. each night with rodeo performances starting at 7 p.m. each night.

Slack will be held on Friday, June 25 at 9 a.m. The Friday rodeo performance is Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night.

A Patriotic Parade will be held in downtown Thermopolis on Saturday, June 26 at 10 a.m.

Tickets for the rodeo are available at CarQuest. Visit http://www.thermopoliscowboyrendezvous.com for more information.
