Clayton Clifford Kalli

Clayton Clifford Kalli, 85, passed away on Sept. 16, 2019, at his home in Thermopolis after a battle with prostate cancer.

He was born June 23, 1934, in Cromwell, Minn. He was the son of Hugo and Helen Kalli. After two years of college at the University of Minnesota he joined the Air Force and was sent to Denver, Colo., for radar and electronic training and became an instructor at Lowery Air Force Base. After being honorably discharged, he pursued a career in the electronics field which led to a job installing telephone switching equipment in various locations.

He married his wife, Linda, in November 1988 and retired from the telephone company in October 1990 and they moved shortly thereafter to Thermopolis in 1991.

Clay loved working on cars and especially enjoyed the challenge of rebuilding an engine. He also enjoyed playing the harmonica, reading and listening to talk radio. He also liked to ride his trail bike, he and his wife had some great fun on their bikes exploring old gold and silver mines in the Colorado mountains. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a longtime member of the Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; brothers, Dennis (Janet) and Ricky; sisters, Carol (Mike), Joyce (Jim) and Phyllis (Dick); sons, Darryl (Andi) Kalli and Michael Knight; grandchildren, David Knight, Dominick Knight and Derek (Samantha) Knight; great-grandchild, Wyatt Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hot Springs County Hospice. Internment will be at a later date.
