Three arrested in meth bust

Three agencies worked together to arrest three suspects last Friday, in regard to a delivery of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, on Aug. 30 a deputy with the Hot Springs County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) about a meth deal that was going to happen between Trevor W. Brinkerhoff, Brian K. Mackey and a Casper male subject. Further information included the vehicle Brinkerhoff and Mackey were in.

The vehicle was located at a local business and Brinkerhoff was positively identified. Upon contact with Brinkerhoff and Mackey, the two confirmed they were travelling together.

A Thermopolis Police officer was also on scene and contacted a third subject inside the business. During a pat down of the third subject, later identified as Adam Maggos, the officer felt what he believed was a package of possibly illegal drugs. Upon further search, the deputy located a bag on the subject with what appeared to be, and tested presumptive positive for, methamphetamine. The weight of the substance was 8.1 grams.

Further, according to the documents Mackey admitted to transporting Brinkerhoff to Thermopolis to meet Maggos.

Brinkerhoff and Mackey are each charged with conspiracy to deliver meth and are jailed on $10,000 bonds. Maggos is charged with illegal possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to deliver and conspiracy to deliver meth, and is jailed on a $25,000 bond. All three subjects have preliminary hearings on Sept. 9
