On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff’s office

Tuesday, Aug. 20

10:48 a.m. REDDI report from outside the county. The suspect vehicle could not be located in the county.

9:04 a.m. Thomas Toth and Jack Hillan were transported to Hot Springs County Detention Center on warrants.

9:21 p.m. A male subject was cited for a probation violation.

9:44 p.m. Complaint reported a suspicious subject looking through her door. The area was searched and no such subject was located.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

6:20 p.m. REDDI report, in which a mother reported her daughter was driving while intoxicated. A deputy caught up with the vehicle and the incident was transferred to Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Thursday, Aug. 22

10:14 a.m. Complaint of a vehicle illegally passing a stopped school bus. The suspect vehicle was not found in the county, but the registered owner will be cited.

3:43 p.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the buffalo pasture. The vehicle was unoccupied when the deputy first arrived, and gone when he returned.

6:27 p.m. Burglary complaint from a female subject, who reported more than $5,100 had been taken.

Other reports of burglary have come in the past week, including tackle boxes and a jar with an estimated $300 in change,and people are advised to make sure their valuables are locked up.

Friday, Aug. 23

9:14 a.m. Complaint of reckless shooting at TV Draw. The subject in question was found to be shooting responsibly.

Saturday, Aug. 24

10:06 p.m. A deputy was called to assisted Highway Patrol.

Sunday, Aug. 25

1:29 p.m. A female subject reported a possible protection order violation on a male subject who was retrieving property. The order was found to be not valid on the property in question.

Tuesday, Aug. 20

9:25 p.m. Dominic M. Magelky was arrested for alleged use of a controlled substance, open container, driving under suspension and minor in possession. A male subject was cited for use of a controlled substance.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

5:16 a.m. Report of a lost wallet.

4:19 p.m. A male subject was cited for illegally passing a school bus.

8:44 p.m. A couple sleeping in a vehicle on a residential street was asked to move along.

Thursday, Aug. 22

11:43 a.m. A female subject reported being harassed on social media. The offending party was contacted and told to stop it.

1:16 p.m. Report of a wallet left at a hotel.

5:45 p.m. Report of a Social Security phone scam.

Friday, Aug. 23

2:06 p.m. Subject wanted a vehicle checked out to see if it is road-worthy.

6:25 p.m. A civil standby was provided while children were picked up.

8:52 p.m. Ulises R. Rodriguez was arrested for alleged interference with an officer, possession of marijuana, speeding and no driver’s license.

11:01 p.m .Noise complaint on barking dogs.

Saturday, Aug. 24

1:33 p.m. Complaint of a couple arguing. The two were separated.

6:19 p.m. A subject who was doing a long-distance bicycle ride broke down on the highway and was assisted by an officer.

Monday, Aug. 26

9:10 a.m. Civil standby provided while property was retrieved.

9:22 p.m. Jonathan D. Jones was arrested for alleged domestic assault.

11:01 p.m. Nathan M. Thomas was arrested for alleged interference with an officer.

Birth

Omriella Ruth Emery was born Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Jennifer and Toby Emery.

She weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long.

Circuit court

Tiffany Ringgenberg was bound over on possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Nathan M. Thomas was found guilty of two counts of interference with a peace officer and driving without an interlock device, and was sentenced to six months in jail with 11 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation.

Fees and fines are $615. Restitution is $1,904.69.
