On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff’s office

Tuesday, April 30

5:44 p.m. Report of a vehicle passing others dangerously. The vehicle was located and stopped, and the driver was cited for going too fast.

10:40 p.m. Report of a vehicle vs. deer accident. The animal was dispatched and a report was taken.

Wednesday, May 1

4:04 p.m. Report of a semi passing unsafely. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

Thursday, May 2

11:40 a.m. A trespass notice was served on a subject.

Friday, May 3

2:39 a.m. Report of a rock slide in the canyon. Deputies provided traffic control while the debris was removed.

12:20 p.m. Report of theft. The matter is under investigation.

12:26 p.m. Caller had questions regarding how someone had been mistreating her.

Saturday, May 4

4:18 p.m. Complaint of a vehicle passing others unsafely. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

Sunday, May 5

11:40 p.m. Report of a rock slide in the canyon. Traffic control was provided.

Tuesday, April 30

11:20 a.m. Jeremy W. James was arrested on a warrant.

11:33 a.m. Complainant reported his Facebook account was hacked and money was being solicited from him.

2:57 p.m. Report of a driver weaving between the lines of his lane.

Wednesday, May 1

12:48 a.m. An officer on patrol located a vehicle with a tent topper. Subjects sleeping in the tent were informed they were on private property.

11:57 a.m. A suspicious subject was trespassed from a business.

10:51 p.m. Reported odor of marijuana. It was determined the smell was coming from a skunk.

Thursday, May 2

12:07 a.m. A trailer pulling a vehicle was stopped for no lights and the driver was warned.

12:40 p.m. Officer reported to a family conflict.

1:15 p.m. Report of suspicious subjects on private property. The subjects were told to leave.

7:36 p.m. Officer removed various items from lanes of travel.

11:52 p.m. While on patrol, an officer saw a vehicle with its door open and contacted the owner, who had forgotten to close it.

Friday, May 3

8:44 a.m. Report of disorderly conduct by a female subject at the elementary school.

1 p.m. Assistance was provided for a subject who appeared confused.

5:37 p.m. Report of a subject’s ex calling and harassing her.

Saturday, May 4

4:03 p.m. REDDI report, though the suspect vehicle was followed and the driver did not have any infractions.

Monday, May 6

6:50 p.m. Report of a minor two-vehicle accident with no injuries.

8:02 p.m. Complainant reported he left his residence but when he returned things were in disarray.

Circuit court

KC V. Lahoe was bound over to district court on charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.

Stephanie L. Williams was found guilty of open container. Fees and fines are $235.

John R. Murphy was found guilty of second-offense driving under suspension and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 173 days supension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $705.

Michael L. Sun Rhodes was found guilty of pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, and was sentenced to 14 days in jail with 11 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $205.

Dale C. Ditolla was found guilty of hunting, trapping, fishing or collecting antlers on private land without the landowner’s permission. Fees and fines are $435.
