BLM releases environmental analysis

In its ongoing effort to provide opportunities for responsible energy development, support the creation of jobs, and facilitate positive economic impacts to local communities, the Bureau of Land Management has released its initial environmental analysis for the Wind River/Bighorn Basin District third quarter 2018 competitive oil and gas lease sale. The document is available for public review and comment through Feb. 21, 2018.

The lease sale includes 22 parcels and approximately 29,627 acres of federal mineral estate within the Wind River/Bighorn Basin District. The draft environmental assessment (EA) studies the potential offering of 20 parcels totaling 28,793 acres in the Lander Field Office and 2 parcels totaling 834 acres in the Worland Field Office.

The lease sale will be held online at energynet.com.

The land in question in Hot Springs County is just off Buffalo Creek Road in the Ditch Creek area.
