Take time to take care of yourself

With the Holidays upon us these next few weeks will be filled with Christmas parties, lots of delicious goodies, concerts, craft fairs, celebrations, travel, family and fun.

There is so much going on between buying and wrapping presents to baking cookies into the wee hours of the morning that we sometimes forget to slow down and take a little time for ourselves during the Holidays.

No doubt, this time of year is stressful for everyone, but every now and then stop, take a deep breath, and relax.

Stand back and look at that beautiful Christmas tree all covered with lights without worrying that one ball is out of place on the left side.

Close your eyes and enjoy the music. Sing along whether you can carry a tune or not.

Breathe in the delightful smell of Christmas cookies. Eat one before they’ve cooled off.

Savor that cup of coffee with peppermint-flavored creamer or toss a few extra mini marshmallows in your cocoa.

Pause for a moment because this moment will never happen again.

Dr. Seuss said it best,

“It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags. Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, he thought, means a little bit more.”
