Keith Davis

Keith Davis, 80, of Lander, Wyo., passed away at his home on September 23, 2017, surrounded by family and caregivers.

Keith was born in Thermopolis, Wyo., on July 20, 1937, to Hester Oliver "Slim" Davis and Ruth Louise Baker Davis. He grew up in the Owl Creeks outside of Thermopolis. He graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1955. He worked for many different ranches including the Arapahoe Ranch. He married Allison Davis in 1959, they had three children Jody, Karla, and Tyler. They later divorced. He attended the University of Wyoming before moving to Fremont County. He worked at the Uranium Mine, U.S. Steel, and Fremont County Road & Bridge. He loved the outdoors and was a past member of the Wind River Back Country Horseman, the Wind River Long Ears Association and FFA. He enjoyed training his mules and horses, hunting, fishing, ATV riding, hiking, and rock hunting. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos, the Lander Tigers and Wyoming Jr. Rodeo Assoc. He had been involved in the Jr. Sheriff's Posse, a 4H Leader, and helped conduct various horse clinics.

Keith is survived by daughters, Jody Davis Sauers and Karla Sue Davis; grandsons, K. Michael (Makenzie) Sauers and Nick M. Comes (Patrick Crowder); stepdaughter, Cara (Jason) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Tyler Ian and Karli Ann Sauers and Makenzie and Eli Anderson; sisters, Esther (Dr. Bill) Bolton and Lois A. Davis; sister-in-law, Diane Davis; and many nieces, nephews and great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tyler Bradley Davis; and brothers, Jim Davis, Raymond Davis, and Leonard Davis.

Funeral Services were held September 28 at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. Burial followed at Mount Hope Cemetery.
