Douglas Larson

Douglas O. Larson, 60, passed away April 26, 2017, at Mease Countryside Hospital in Clearwater, Fla., after a courageous battle with COPD.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1956, at Hopewell Hospital in Thermopolis, Wyo., to Leonard H. Larson and Ruth E. (Petersen) Larson. He was the third eldest of six children. He grew up on Owl Creek and spent most of his life in Thermopolis and Casper, Wyo. He attended Hot Springs County High School and Natrona County High School (he was a member of the wrestling and track teams).

He proudly served his country in the 82nd Airborne of the US Army.

He married his childhood friend from Casper, Dorinda Negly. They were blessed with two beloved daughters. The couple later divorced.

Doug was hard working and had a variety of occupations. Most notably, he worked several years for Anderson Merchandising in Atlanta, Ga., were he was recognized for his many years of perfect attendance. He earned an Associate's degree in computer technology from ITT Technical Institute in Duluth, Ga.

He is survived by his daughters, Emily (Drake) Love and Kristal (Ross) Redfearn; seven grandchildren; mother, of Casper; brothers, William (Carol) of Evanston, Wyo., Steven of Lawrenceville, Ga., Randall of Casper, Wyo.; and Edward (Helen) of Tampa, Fla.; and his sister, Laura Hunsaker of Casper, Wyo.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date in Wyoming.
