Tammy True-Hatten

Tammy Jean True-Hatten, 76, of Wheatland, passed away on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at her home in Wheatland.

Tammy was born at Solandt Memorial Hospital in Hayden, Colo., on Oct. 12, 1940. She was the first child born to H.A. "Dave" and Jean (Durland) True. Tammy graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, and attended the University of Wyoming, where she met her late husband Donald George Hatten.

Married on June 25, 1960, Don and Tammy worked for True Companies until they purchased and operated Kirby Creek Land and Livestock in Thermopolis, where they raised Red Angus cattle and Quarter Horses. Tammy was an exceptionally skilled artist. While in Thermopolis she opened and ran His Place for Ceramics, a studio where she taught as well as crafted and sold a wide variety of products.

In the summer of 1998 they retired to Wheatland to be closer to their family. Tammy was joyfully involved in the activities of her family, always supportive and inspiring. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time in her beautiful flower garden and yards, but her greatest pleasure came from her passion for the Lord and sharing God's word.

Tammy is survived by her brothers, H.A. "Hank" (Karen), Diemer (Susie), and David L. (Melanie) True, all of Casper; son, Dave Hatten of Wheatland; daughter Jaci (Dale) Kerns of Lingle; grandchildren, Kacy Hatten (Carl Eggert) of Wheatland, Kara (Christian) Sabo of Suisun City, Calif., Jake "JD" Kerns of Casper, Kodi Kerns of Lingle, Josh (Randi) Kerns of Glenrock, and Joel Kerns of Sheridan; great-granddaughter, Jannelle Kerns; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; father; and husband.

Funeral services were held at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Casper. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wyoming FFA Association, 9608 Child Road, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82009.

The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at
