Library hosts cultural gem discussion

Hot Springs County Library will sponsor a free presentation by Richard Maturi on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Library.

Maturi explores a collection of cultural gem libraries from coast-to-coast He will illustrate the rich diversity of America’s libraries while exploring the humanities focus on a broad panorama of library architecture, unique building re-purposing and the various ways communities funded their libraries.

Maturi is a published author of more than a score of books, some in collaboration with his wife Mary, and more than 1,000 articles.

Cultural Gems is presented by the Wyoming Humanities Council as part of its ThinkWY Road Scholars Tours program.

The Wyoming Humanities Council provides public humanities-based programs in partnership with local organizations and is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities with additional support from private donors and the Wyoming Legislature.
