Key Club schedules February 'Date Night'

Couples looking to have a romantic evening around Valentine’s Day without having to worry about their kids or finding a babysitter can utilize the Hot Springs County High School Key Club’s “Date Night,” Feb. 11 from 5-10 p.m.

Key Club President Maggie Ryan and Vice President Korey Smith explained parents can drop off their children at the high school prior to going on their dates. About a dozen students and four adult supervisors will watch the children. They are well versed in supervising and CPR techniques, but will call parents if there is an emergency.

Parents must check in their kids, providing names, contact numbers and any relevant medical information such as allergies. Anyone dropping off those not toilet trained will need to provide supplies such as diapers and wipes. Though snacks will be served, parents should bring drinks for their children in labeled sip cups.

Those monitoring children will utilize classroom, gymnasium and commons space at the school. There will be gymnasium items for play, crafts and a movie. Parents should plan to pick up their children at 10 p.m., and supervisors will call if necessary.
