Fire department

Thursday, November 17

3:33 p.m. Vehicle fire in the 200 block of Spring Creek Road.

Monday, November 21

1:46 p.m. Fire at mile marker 167 on Highway 20 North.

Sheriff’s office

Wednesday, November 16

6:20 p.m. Report of a single vehicle car vs. deer accident near mile marker 135 on Highway 20. There were no injuries.

Thursday, November 17

8:39 a.m. Report of a hit and run accident in the 100 block of Highway 20 South.

10:49 a.m. A dead antelope was reported on the highway. The animal was removed.

11:20 a.m. Report of cows out at mile marker 142 on Highway 20 North. The animals were put back in.

11:52 a.m. Caller reported a vehicle had slid and could not get up a hill. Prior to a deputy arriving, a passerby assisted in getting the vehicle moving.

Friday, November 18

10:59 a.m. A female driver was observed by a deputy, who knew the subject to have a suspended license. She was cited.

11:15 a.m. Agency assist with Department of Family Services.

3:06 p.m. Report of a semi driving erratically in the canyon. The vehicle could not be located.

7:34 p.m. Complainant reported a barking dog outside. The deputy checked the animal, and found it was in good health, and had food and shelter.

9:18 p.m. Report of a pickup with its emergency flasher on and skid marks at mile marker 123 on Highway 20. The vehicle was gone when deputies arrived.

Saturday, November 19

7:05 a.m. Report of horses on the road at mile marker 137 on Highway 20.

Sunday, November 20

3:09 a.m. Caller saw a sudden, bright light north of town, and believed it was a meteor.

Police department

Due to early printing of the IR, police calls were not available on Monday.

Circuit court

Nathan Paschall was found guilty of reckless endangering and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 158 suspension and one year supervised probation. Fees and fines are $290.

Rebecca Devore was found guilty of selling alcohol to a minor and was sentenced to 15 days in jail with 15 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $340.

Chad Hamby was found guilty of theft under $1,000 and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $190, and restitution is $230.

District court

A trial scheduled to start Monday in a case against Justin Spence, who is charged with sexual assault, has been rescheduled. The trial, which will now commence Dec. 7, was rescheduled in order to allow time for all witnesses to be present.

Births

Cade Lonsen Casciato was born Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at West Park Hospital in Cody, Wyo. to Cole and Malissa Casciato of Thermopolis.

He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 21.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Joseph and Toni Casciato of Thermopolis, Kristi and Chad Severance of Williston, S.D. and Daryl and Carol Danielson of Showlow, Ariz.

Josephine “Joey” O’Connor was born Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Courtney and Ryan O’Connor of Thermopolis, Wyo.

She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 21 inched long.

Grandparents are Bruce and Sabrina Thoren and Pat and Shelley O’Connor, all of Wyoming.
