Help for alcoholism and addictions

Hi. My name is Joan. I am an alcoholic. It has been with many relapses and struggles that I have finally found happiness and sobriety after persistent attempts. This is all due to my two concerned children and especially Frank and Karen Robbins.

It was a long drawn-out process with multiple rejections from various agencies. Most recently a hospital refused to examine and/or admit me for my DTs. They stated they are not capable of helping people with alcoholism and/or addictions. Even more recently, a person with severe alcoholism and DTs was turned away to be on the street on his own. There was no lab work, EKG, physical examine, etc. performed.

This lack of compassion and care is disturbing. DTs are very serious and can cause death. I am so thankful for the compassion, love and care given to me by family and the Set Free Ministry. I hope our community becomes aware of the severe abuse problem we have and the inability to obtain care. Alcoholism and addiction are a severe disease and I wish everyone would understand that we are loving and caring people who can contribute to our community.
