Cowboy Coffee opens

Cowboy Coffee opened last Tuesday to provide locals with a drive-in coffee alternative.

Owner Charlene Anderson said she has always wanted a coffee shop.

“I thought maybe we needed a drive-in coffee shop on this side of town,” she said.

Cowboy Coffee opens at 6 a.m. and stays open till around noon. Anderson said she may extend the hours in the future, possibly staying open till as late as 6 p.m.

Depending on how well she is able to keep the stand insulated, she said she may extend the business into the fall and winter months.

Anderson said she wants to provide customers with a good cup of coffee.

“I’m open early, and I hope I can make people a good cup of coffee and hopefully they’ll come back,” she said. “I’m not fancy or anything. I want people to tell me what they want.”

It’s fun working at the coffee stand, Anderson said.

“This is fun,” she said. “This is going to be great, getting to meet people and provide them with some good coffee. Try me out and let me know what you like. Everybody likes their coffee differently and I want to give customers exactly what they want.”
