Summer food program offered by school district

Hot Springs County School District Number One announced its participation in the National School Lunch and/or School Breakfast Programs for the 2016 summer school sessions. The National School Lunch and/or School Breakfast Program is/are a USDA federal program(s) that reimburses the district/school for serving nutritious meals to students.

According to Food Services Director Cindy Wallingford, the summer food program is open to the public and will be served at Ralph Witters Elementary School. The program is free for all students and $4 for adults. It will run 8 a.m.-noon on June 6-9, June 13-16 Aug. 1-4 and Aug. 8-11. It will also run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from June 13-29 and July 11-27.

The same meals will be made available to all enrolled children at no separate charge regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex or disability, and there is no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
