Walter Boulware

Walter Erskine Boulware, 84, of Cody, passed away at West Park Long Term Care Center on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, with his wife and family at his side.

Walter was born to Cecil Boulware and Edith “Dolly” Erskine Boulware at the family ranch home on the Greybull River, west of Meeteetse on May 31, 1931. He was raised and went to school in Meeteetse.

He was “top hand” by the age of 12 and was a self-taught bull and bareback rider. He rodeoed from age16-20. Walter was a welder for Husky Oil for years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, golf and motorcycling. He was dedicated to family and hard work. Walter was a resident of Thermopolis from 1991-2005.

Walter is survived by his wife of 18 years, Betty Darlene Dowers Boulware; daughter Sheryl (Michael) Fay of Bar Nunn, Wyo.; son Scott (Barbara) Boulware of Oswego, Ill.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two step-daughters, Barbara Fletcher of Chugwater and Cathy Selby of Wapiti.

Memorial services will be held in April.
