Encore talent show tryouts Sunday

Do you or someone you know have a talent you always thought was worthy of attention? If you are a student ranging in age from kindergarten to a senior in high school, the Encore talent show may be just the stage you have been looking for.

The Encore program is presented as a fundraiser for Risen Son Christian School, and tryouts will be held at the school on Sunday, Feb. 7. There are four divisions in which young stars will compete: kindergarten through second grade, third grade through fifth grade, sixth grade through eighth grade, and a high school division.

All county students are eligible for entry into the contest. Tiffany Simeral said although this year will most likely just be Hot Springs students, she would eventually like to expand the show into Worland and then the Big Horn Basin entire.

Those talented enough to make it past the tryouts will perform on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. Only six acts for each division will be featured in the final contest due to time constraints.

The contest features $400 in prize money, $50 of which will be awarded to both the winner of the kindergarten through second grade and third grade to fifth grade divisions, $100 will be awarded to the winner of the sixth through eighth grade division, and the remaining $200 will be awarded to the winner of the high school division.

An entry fee will be charged to those who come to watch the final contest on Saturday, Feb. 20. All funds will go to the Risen Son Christian School.

Entry forms, which must be turned in by Friday, Feb. 5, can be filled out at http://risensonsbc.wix.com/rscs#!encore/ioow1. For more information, contact Tiffany Simeral at 307-620-1901 or risensonchristian@gmail.com
