Two Lady Bobcats named All-Conference

Two Lady Bobcats from Hot Springs County High School were named to the 2A All-Conference team Monday.

Lizzy Lofink and Maggie Ryan, who had consistently strong performances over the course of the 2015 season, were honored with the selection. The list named players from twenty 2A teams from around the state.

Lofink consistently earned mention in post-game reports as an offensive mainstay for the Lady Bobcats. A go-to staple for the team, Lofink, an offensive hitter, recorded multiple kills nearly every game.

Ryan was much the same on the defensive side of the ball. Almost always in the double digits for digs, Ryan played a crucial part of the Lady Bobcats team, preventing opposing teams from going on runs and supporting the offense. Ryan also put points on the board for the hometown Bobcats, recording a number of aces throughout the season.

The Lady Bobcats season ended on Nov. 6 with a loss to Kemmerer in the first round of the 2015 2A Regional tournament. This qualified the Lady Cats for play in the consolation bracket against Big Piney in a game that the Lady Cats eventually dropped in the fourth set.

“I was disappointed that our season ended the way it did, I am never ready for the season to be over.  However, these girls really did play well and fought hard, it just wasn’t our year,” said coach Shannon Hill after the Big Piney loss.
