On the Record policy

It is the Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police calls” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Correction

There was an error in the Aug. 27 front page story about the Hot Springs County Budget. Emergency Management requested $28,400 and received that amount instead of $14,400 as reported. There was an additional line item in the budget for a an Emergency Management Performance Grant for $14,000 which was missed. The IR apologies for the error.
