The sky will light up for the Fourth

The Fourth of July may evoke different emotions for different people, but the one common emotion this holiday displays in Americans worldwide is patriotism. Young and old, Americans are proud of their nationalism and the Fourth is the day we let everyone know it with parades, parties, and, of course, fireworks!

The festivities begin at 10 a.m. in downtown Thermopolis on Saturday, July 4 th with a Patriotic Parade. The Chamber invites all kids to participate in the beginning of the parade for a patriotic children’s procession that will be followed by motorized vehicles and floats. Float submissions are encouraged to be entered with the Chamber as soon as possible; however, last minute float submissions will be accepted up until Friday morning before the parade.

No Fourth of July celebration would be complete without fireworks, and the Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department will not disappoint thanks to generous donations from the community.

New this year, a designated safe area for the public to set off fireworks has been established next to the Recreation Building (Armory). The fireworks area will be supervised by members of the Volunteer Fire Department and will be open for fireworks fun from 6–11 p.m.

The Volunteer Fire Department will be setting of fireworks from T Hill at dark, so make sure that you find a comfortable viewing area by dusk. Don’t have a yard to watch the show from in town? No problem. The State Park offers lots of open grass and picnic tables for you to get cozy and watch the show.
