Comments sought for HSSP future

Public comment is requested by the Wyoming Division of State Parks Historic Sites and Trails until June 12, on draft alternatives for the future development of Hot Springs State Park.

The alternatives are for a 20-year Master Plan which will guide management of recreation, natural and cultural resources.  The planning process has included a series of steering committee meetings and community outreach.

Three alternatives are presented. They range from a limited action plan which maintains existing facilities and amenities to the legacy plan which consolidates aquatic amenities, improves the river experience and aesthetics, as well as adds a visitor center, and replaces the boat ramp in the park with recreational river access.

This public comment period follows the May 11 Community Workshop which was held in Thermopolis. The alternatives can be reviewed and comments can be submitted by visiting the project website at http://www.hotspringsmasterplan.com .

Comments can also be submitted by email to  info@hotspringsmasterplan.com.   The alternatives are also available for review by appointment at Hot Springs State Park Headquarters; 538 North Park Street by calling 307-864-2176.
