Hot Springs County High School senior Jessica Schierkolk has been named to the Wyoming State band, becoming the first HSCHS student in eight years to receive the prestigious honor. Schierkolk started playing trumpet eight years ago and has been playing with teacher Dustin Olsen the entire time. The annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Festival will be Thursday, Dec. 3 at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center. According to information released by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, a fatal crash north of Riverton on Saturday, Nov. 14 resulted in the death of 25-year-old Michael J. Porath, a 2008 graduate of Hot Springs County High School. At the time of his death, Porath was living and working in Casper.
