    Out of Nashville, Tennessee, Rebecca Frazier and Hit & Run will be performing June 18 at the Pavilion in Hot Springs State Park starting at 7 p.m. Playing bluegrass tunes, the Colorado-based group is the first part of the Arts in the Park performances being put on this summer. Rebecca Frazier and Hit & Run, including band members Isaac Eicher, Mike Sumner, Erik Alvar and Christain Ward, performed once before in Thermopolis in 2006.     Water levels in the Big Horn River south of Boysen Dam were increased again Tuesday, going up to 7,500 cubic feet per second. Emergency Management Coordinator Bill Gordon said the river should start reducing in speed after this increase. “The plan is 7,500 is as high as it goes,” Gordon said. This all comes from the Bureau of Reclamation who oversees water resource management throughout the country.     Hollywood hit home for Barb and Merlin Heinze when a costume designer working on Quentin Tarantino's newest movie "The Hateful Eight" reached out. The two proprietors of Merlin's Hide Out were asked to make buffalo coats for Kurt Russell to use in the movie. With the movie set to premiere this winter, Barb said it was stressful at times getting the work done correctly and quickly.     The Retail Committee discussed their 12 Days of Christmas promotion during their meeting Friday. On December 19, there will be three cash drawings for $200, $300 and $500 Chamber Buck award amounts. The goal of the giveaway is to bring more people into town to shop. Retailers are still working on how people will enter, but the foremost plan is to require entrants to have a receipt from a local business in order to participate.   • Outdoor pool at State Bath House to close for repairs

    The outdoor pool at the Wyoming State Bath House will be closed at the end of June for approximately 10 days. According to State Park Superintendent Kevin Skates, the pool needs to be drained and repaved now as the material they’re using needs to cure. “It has to be done during the Summer,” Skates said. Because the resurfacing needs consistent temperatures, the work can’t be done easily at other times during the year.     The Thermopolis Town Council approved spending an additional $9,123.50 on an updated WYOLink dispatch console for the Law Enforcement Center. WYOLink is a statewide digital network that connects police, fire, other agencies and emergency agencies. The current system is being replaced because it is out of date compared to most of the rest of the state, but the new system should last the town 15 to 20 years according to information from Motorola, who maintains the equipment.     Howard Samelson and Deb Tudor were named board members to serve on the Main Street Thermopolis board during their meeting May 28. Both were unanimously voted into the positions following recent board resignations. The board also discussed planting flowers in pots downtown.     David Hicks, 45, was given 21 to 25 years in prison following his guilty plea to felony third-degree sexual assault without inflicting sexual intrusion or bodily injury, and felony abuse of a vulnerable adult.     Hot Spring County’s unemployment rate decreased slightly between January and February 2015, based on information from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. From March to April of this year, unemployment in the county has decreased from 5.1 percent to 4.5 percent. The unemployment rate is back at the same mark it started at in January of this year.     The Hot Springs County Conservation District gave fourth graders Eastern Redcedar trees as a way to promote conservation. Linda Barrett, Darcy Axtell, Dawn Peil and Jim Barrett gave the Ralph Witters Elementary students their trees. "Hopefully they'll get them planted with parents help," Linda Barrett said.     The Thermopolis Town Council approved a contract Tuesday to have Carr Coatings of Lovell do painting repairs to the Cedar Ridge tank at a cost of $98,925.     The Travel and Tourism Board approved offering a renewed one-year contract to Cowgirl Consulting to the tune of $42,500, a five percent increase according to state park superintendent Kevin Skates.     Two people hunting bear near Grass Creek and Carmichael Draw found an overturned four-wheeler with a body stuck between it and the ground. Lan Price, 53, was killed by the injuries he sustained following an ATV accident.
